China to Cut Dioxin Emissions

The Chinese government says it aims to cut dioxin emissions in the country by 10% in the next five years. China has more than 10,000 enterprises in 17 key industries discharging dioxin, the government says. A circular about the plans to cut dioxin emissions was jointly issued recently by nine ministry-level agencies in China including the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Ministry of Finance, as well as the National Development and Reform Commission.
