About 12 companies that passed tests carried out by the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP; Beijing) will share the quota, the Chinese government says. The companies include Baogang Group (Baotou), China’s largest producer of light rare earths and the parent of Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Rare-Earth Hi-Tech Co.
