Chemical Week Magazine :: Business & Finance :: Asia/Pacific Cabot Bluestar Expands Fumed Silica in China9:34 AM MDT | October 15, 2010 | Deepti Ramesh Cabot Bluestar Chemical (Jiangxi), a joint venture between Cabot Corp. and China National Bluestar (Beijing), has broken ground on an expansion of its fumed silica manufacturing facility at Jiujiang, China. The $43-million investment will eventually increase production capacity to 20,000 m.t./year of fumed silica. The first expansion phase will increase capacity from 5,000 m.t./year, to 15,000 m.t./year with commissioning expected in the second half of 2011.
