BASF says it will invest €40 million ($58 million) over the next two years to double production capacity for mobile emission catalysts at the company’s regional manufacturing hub at Shanghai. The expansion is expected to be completed in 2013. BASF also announced that its N.E. Chemcat (Tokyo) 50-50 joint venture with Sumitomo Metal Mining (Tokyo) will double capacity for heavy-duty diesel emission catalysts at N.E. Chemcat’s plant at Tsukuba, Japan.
