AkzoNobel to Acquire Specialty Surfactant Producer in China

AkzoNobel says it will acquire Boxing Oleochemicals (Binzhou, China), a leading supplier of nitrile amines and derivatives in China and other parts of Asia, to strengthen AkzoNobel’s position in specialty surfactants and enhance its manufacturing footprint in Asia. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Boxing Oleochemicals has a manufacturing site at Binzhou in Shandong Province and the company generated revenues of about €100 million ($145 million) in 2010.
