US PX exports to Asia increase

Exports of US para-xylene (p-xylene) to Northeast Asia have picked up since August, and the arbitrage window remains wide open, says IHS Chemical’s Market Advisory Service: Global Polyester Fibers & Feedstocks. Contract-driven exports to Mexico have been above the annual average, the report notes, and Brazil became a net importer of US p-xylene with the start-up of a new purified terephthalic acid plant at Suape, Brazil, earlier this year.
