U.S. Commodity Chemicals Stumble on Financial Volatility

North American commodity chemicals prices have stumbled in August amid volatility in financial markets and falling energy prices. U.S. butadiene spot prices tumbled 10 cts/lb, to 189 cts-191 cts/lb. Players says that buyer interest is sluggish, prompting spot numbers to decline. Easing demand led spot prices to fall below the $2/lb mark for the first time in nine weeks.
