Tight supply and turnarounds support Asia ethylene prices

Ethylene prices have continued to rally in Asia owing to currently tight supply and upcoming steam cracker maintenance that is scheduled to coincide with the period of derivative restocking that usually takes place in the first quarter of the year, IHS Chemical says. December prices increased in northeast Asia and Southeast Asia because of cost pressure caused by rising naphtha and liquefied petroleum gas markets, IHS Chemical adds.
