Talks End for Sale of Shell Refinery

Royal Dutch Shell says it will go ahead with previously announced plans to close its 130,000-bpd refinery at Montreal East and convert the site to a fuel terminal that will receive gasoline, diesel and aviation fuels. The site also has the capacity to produce about 55,000 m.t./year of propylene. The move comes after negotiations with a potential buyer fell through, Shell says (CW, June 14, p. 8).
