Saudi Polymers starts production, Kayan begins trial LDPE run

Saudi Polymers has announced the commercial startup of its petrochemical complex at Jubail, Saudi Arabia on 1 October 2012. Saudi Polymers is owned 65% by National Petrochemical Company (Petrochem; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) and 35% by Chevron Phillips Chemical. SIIG (Riyadh) holds 50% in Petrochem. Saudi Polymers announced the completion of construction of the complex in June. The project, built on a total land area of 1.1 million sq meters at the Jubail industrial city, is designed to produce 1.16 million m.t./year of ethylene; 430,000 m.t./year of propylene; 1.1...
