Sasol Settles Price Fixing Suit

Sasol Polymers agreed to a R11.6 million settlement ($16.4 million) with the South African Competition Commission in relation to its existing propylene supply agreement with plastics manufacturer Safripol (Bryanston, South Africa). Pricing provisions of the agreement gave rise to indirect price fixing between Sasol Polymers and Safripol, and prices at which Sasol Polymers supplies propylene and polypropylene (PP) are “excessive,” the commission says.
