Power Outages Disrupt Texas City Production

Lights Out: Salt buildup on transmission lines may have caused the interruption. Electrical outages at Texas City, TX forced several refineries and chemical units offline on April 25, including BP Chemical and Dow Chemical. A shelter-in-place alert, advising residents to stay indoors, was issued following the outage, but was lifted about 12 hours later.
