Chemical Week Magazine :: Basic Chemicals & Plastics Potash to Restart Ammonia Unit9:20 AM MST | February 11, 2011 PotashCorp of Saskatchewan says it plans to invest about $158 million to restart its idled 474,000-m.t./year anhydrous ammonia plant at Geismar, LA. The plant was idled in 2003 due to high natural gas prices, PotashCorp says. Since then the company has been using imported ammonia to make its other products at Geismar, including 845,000 m.t./year of nitric acid and 330,000 m.t./year of urea ammonium nitrate (UAN).
