PS demand to fall in 2013

Global polystyrene (PS) demand is expected to be lower in 2013 compared with 2102, according to the latest IHS Chemical Market Advisory Service: Global Plastics & Polymers report. High feedstock and conversion costs are resulting in converters substituting PS with other plastics, including polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polypropylene (PP), and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), the report says.
