PET prices hold, margins suffer amid weak demand

Global polyethylene terephthalate (PET) prices are expected to hold or improve slightly during the summer as some demand returns. However, margins continue to struggle overall: The stability of production costs offers some respite, but demand has been weak and converters are buying resin only against downstream orders, according to IHS Chemical’s latest Market Advisory Service: Global Plastics & Polymers.
