Chemical Week Magazine :: Basic Chemicals & Plastics New Zealand Unit to Run for 200710:39 AM MDT | July 27, 2007 | Peck Hwee Sim Methanex says it has secured enough natural gas to run its 530,000-m.t./year methanol plant at Taranaki, New Zealand through the end of 2007. Methanex operates the plant as swing capacity, and restarted the plant last August in response to tight supply and rising methanol prices (CW, Nov. 8, 2006, p. 40). The company says its plants at Point Lisas, Trinidad are running above capacity, but that its Punta Arenas, Chile site is operating at 85%-90% of its 3.84-million m.t./year capacity, due to natural gas shortages. The company expects to maintain operating rates... This information is only available to Chemical Week subscribers. Forgot your user ID or password?
