Schulman have agreed to dissolve and liquidate their Sunprene Co. (Akron, OH) polyvinyl chloride (PVC) compounds joint venture. Schulman has a 70% stake in Sunprene and Mitsubishi holds the rest. The plant has capacity of 12,000 m.t./year. Sunprene will be dissolved by year-end and the assets will be transferred to Mitsubishi Chemical’s U.S. performance polymers unit, the company says.
