The sale includes LyondellBasell’s polypropylene (PP) resin plant, feed preparation unit, pipelines, propylene storage, and land. Financial terms were not disclosed. Shell operates an isopropyl alcohol unit at the site. LyondellBasell says it shuttered the 175,000-ton/year PP plant at Sarnia because the plant’s operating costs were no longer competitive.
