LSB Resumes Production, Updates Plant’s Status after Explosion

LSB Industries (Oklahoma City) says it has resumed production of nitric acid and ammonium nitrate at its El Dorado, AR, facility after an explosion in May significantly damaged the plant. The explosion caused major damage to LSB’s 98% concentrated nitric acid plant and peripheral damage to other plants at the site (CW, May 21, p. 4).
