Chemical Week Magazine :: Basic Chemicals & Plastics LSB Resumes Production, Updates Plant’s Status after Explosion8:12 AM MDT | July 20, 2012 | —Lindsey Bewley LSB Industries (Oklahoma City) says it has resumed production of nitric acid and ammonium nitrate at its El Dorado, AR, facility after an explosion in May significantly damaged the plant. The explosion caused major damage to LSB’s 98% concentrated nitric acid plant and peripheral damage to other plants at the site (CW, May 21, p. 4). The company says it is on track to increase nitric acid and ammonium nitrate production during July and August as various units are brought back online.
