Chemical Week Magazine :: Basic Chemicals & Plastics Kuraray to Expand in Texas12:44 PM MDT | July 25, 2007 | Peck Hwee Sim Kuraray says its subsidiary Eval Co. of America (Houston) has started up a 12,000-m.t./year expansion of its ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) resin plant at Pasadena, TX, and will add another 12,000 m.t./year of capacity next year, in anticipation of a surge in demand. The plant has current capacity of 35,000 m.t./year, making it the largest in the world, Kuraray says. The company says it has a 70% share of the global EVOH market, with total capacity of 69,000 m.t./year. It has a 24,000-m.t./year plant at Antwerp, and a 10,000-m.t./year plant at Okayama, Japan.
