The plant is expected to be onstream in September 2014. Kuraray’s investment is in line with the company’s strategy for its global vinyl acetate and PVOH-related products. “Following business expansion in Japan, Singapore, and Germany, this move will secure a fourth advantageously placed production base for the group…in North America, where shale gas is easy to procure,” Kuraray says.
