Invista Plans China Nylon Plant for 2014

Invista says it will move forward with previously announced plans to build a nylon-6,6 intermediates and polymers complex at Shanghai with start-up expected in 2014. The plant will use the company’s butadiene-based technology to produce hexamethylene diamine (HMD) and adiponitrile (ADN), as well as nylon-6,6 polymers. Invista first announced the plant in 2007, with start-up slated for 2010, but the project was delayed due to the economic downturn.
