Chemical Week Magazine :: Basic Chemicals & Plastics Ineos Declares Force Majeure on PE and PP at Strike-Hit U.K. Site11:31 AM MDT | May 6, 2008 | Rebecca Coons Ineos has declared force majeure on deliveries of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), and polypropylene (PP) after a strike closed the company’s Grangemouth, U.K. refining and petrochemical complex last week. Market sources say that force majeure was also declared on butadiene, but Ineos did not confirm this by CW presstime. The two-day strike ended on April 29, when the company began a phased startup of the Grangemouth site. Top priority is being given to the refinery, to restore fuel supplies in the U.K., Ineos says...
