Chemical Week Magazine :: Basic Chemicals & Plastics Incitec Pivot starts up ammonia plant in Australia6:21 AM MDT | October 5, 2012 | —Ian Young Incitec Pivot (Melbourne) says it has commissioned an ammonia plant at the company’s new ammonium nitrate (AN) complex at Moranbah, Australia. The company began production of AN at Moranbah in July 2012 and has been consuming imported ammonia at the complex since then. Incitec Pivot says it expects to produce 250,000 m.t. of AN at Moranbah in its fiscal year ending 30 September 2013, generating about A$90 million ($94 million) in operating profits, and 330,000 m.t. of AN at the complex in the year ending September 2015.
