IHS: Plastics used in cell phones to grow by $1 billion through 2017

Apple’s use of plastic for the case of its new iPhone 5c smartphone reflects a trend that will increase the volume of plastics used in cell phones from 282,000 m.t. in 2013 to 336,000 m.t. in 2017, say analysts at IHS Chemical. The value of the plastics consumed will increase from $3.5 billion to $4.5 billion over the same period....
