Chemical Week Magazine :: Basic Chemicals & Plastics Flint Hills Acquires Huntsman Plant11:38 AM MST | November 9, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Flint Hills Resources (Witchita, KS), a subsidiary of Koch Industries, says it has closed its $415-million acquisition of both Huntsman’s base chemical business and Port Arthur, TX olefins facility including associated pipelines. The acquisition was announced in February, pending the successful restart of the Port Arthur plant, which was damaged by a fire in April 2006 (CW, Aug. 23, 2006, p. 5). The deal does not include Huntsman’s captive ethylene unit at Port Neches, TX. The deal is the final stage of a two-part, $770-million transaction. Flint...
