Europe’s PE prices lose support from ethylene

Europe’s polyethylene (PE) producers were, at CW press time, expected to try to roll over monthly contract prices in February following a decrease in the Western European ethylene contract price that month, according to IHS Chemical’s latest Market Advisory Service: Europe Plastic & Polymers. But, as PE producers seek contract rollovers, PE buyers are likely to target price decreases in line with the drop in the ethylene contract.
