European styrene contracts likely to roll over or drop on benzene decline

European styrene prices have been strong, with June contract price settled at €1,424/m.t. ($1,856), €10 higher than May. Spot prices also rose steadily throughout June. However, with the price of benzene feedstock in decline and margins at a comfortable level, July contracts are likely to roll over and may even decline, says IHS Chemical. The June settlement brought producers healthy margins.
