Europe PE prices supported by ethylene, import duties to rise

November domestic polyethylene (PE) sales were strong in Europe and, on average, almost 10% higher than in October, IHS Chemical says. Producers of PE, following a higher ethylene price settlement, announced December price increases for PE in line with or above the ethylene hike. The December ethylene price settled with an increase of €30/m.t. ($41), giving a price of €1,225/m.t. del northwest Europe (NWE).
