Chemical Week Magazine :: Basic Chemicals & Plastics Dow Boosts MDI10:00 AM MDT | July 27, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Dow Chemical says it will boost methylene-di-para-phenylene (MDI) capacity at Freeport, TX by 50%, to 750 million lbs/year over the next three years, citing growing demand. The expansion will be done in two phases, with the first half scheduled to come onstream early next year, Dow says. The company is expanding its 90,000-m.t./year plant at Estarreja, Portugal to almost double its current size for startup in early 2009 (CW, Nov. 22, 2006, p. 5).
