DAK Americas Completes PET Buy

Grupo Alfa’s (Monterrey, Mexico) DAK Americas unit says it has completed the acquisition of the polyethylene terephthalate (PET) business of Wellman for $185 million. The deal includes Wellman’s PET resin facility at Bay St. Louis, MS, which has production capacity of about 430,000 m.t./year, raising DAK Americas’ total PET resin production capacity to more than 1.9 million m.t./year.
