Chlor-alkali Operating Rates Rise

Average U.S. chlor-alkali operating rates rose 7 percentage points in January 2011, to 92%, according to the latest statistics reported by the Chlorine Institute (Arlington, VA). Total chlorine production rose about 10.7% in January compared with December 2010. Chlorine gas production was higher by about 92,972 tons, to 1,049,138 tons, up 9.72%, from December.
