Chlor-Alkali Production Rises

Average U.S. chlor-alkali operating rates rose 4 percentage points in December, to 81%, according to the latest statistics reported by the Chlorine Institute (Arlington, VA). Total chlorine production increased about 7.5% in December compared with November. Chlorine gas production was higher by about 70,124 tons, to 932,186 tons, up 8.1% from November.
