Celanese to Invest $600 Million to Build Two Ethanol Plants in China

Celanese has signed letters of intent to construct and operate industrial ethanol production facilities at Nanjing, China, and at Zhuhai, China. Celanese announced last November that it plans to build one or two industrial ethanol complexes in China, and a smaller unit at its Clear Lake, TX site. The plants at Nanjing and Zhuhai will each have an initial capacity of 400,000 m.t./year and will involve an investment of $300 million each.
