Chemical Week Magazine :: Basic Chemicals & Plastics Caustic Soda Set to Increase7:13 AM MDT | September 10, 2010 Several U.S. caustic soda producers, including Olin and Dow Chemical, have nominated a $45/ton increase for all grades. The nomination represents the third increase this summer and the fifth this year. The five nominations in 2010 total about $275/ton. With the export market steady amid a series of planned and unplanned plant outages, the need for producers to nominate higher caustic soda prices is not uncalled for, says a market source.
