Canexus Cuts Production at Vancouver Plant

Canexus (Calgary) says it has temporarily reduced production at its 145,000-m.t./year chlor-alkali plant at Vancouver by 30%, because of a loss in the city’s water supply on April 26 that damaged one of three production circuits at the plant. The company says repairs requiring replacement of all of the cell diaphragms are under way, and are expected to be completed by mid-June.
