Brazilian thermoplatic resin prices remain firm in February

Plastics consumption in Brazil slowed during the second half of February following an unusually strong start to the year, according to according to the latest report from market consulting firm QuiMax (São Paulo). The QuiMax report is a collaboration between IHS Chemical and MaxiQuim (Porto Alegre, Brazil). The slower demand is a direct result of prebuying that took place in January, preempting higher prices in February, the Quimax report says. Prices of thermoplastic resins trended up during February, with prices for polyethylenes (PE) increasing...
