Chemical Week Magazine :: Basic Chemicals & Plastics Braskem Starts up Butadiene Expansion at Triunfo10:16 AM MDT | June 22, 2012 | —Lindsey Bewley Braskem has started up a 100,000-m.t./year butadiene expansion at its Triunfo, Brazil petrochemical complex. The company announced last year that it would spend about R300 million ($180 million) to expand butadiene capacity, which was about 105,000 m.t./year at the Triunfo site. Braskem said earlier that the expansion would optimize integration of the company’s operations and add value to its raw materials chain.
