Braskem Restarts Camaçari Units After Power Outage

Braskem says it has restarted two ethylene units at its Camaçari petrochemicals complex at Bahia, Brazil, after the plants went offline in early February due to an unexpected power outage. The blackout interrupted production at the complex’s two aromatics units as well as at related utilities plants. Some furnaces were damaged and will need a longer period to resume operation, while the remaining furnaces will have to go through a process of coils cleaning in order to return to production, Braskem says.
