Chemical Week Magazine :: Basic Chemicals & Plastics BHP Taps SNC-Lavalin for Potash Projects11:01 AM MDT | March 25, 2011 | —REBECCA COONS SNC-Lavalin says it has been contracted by BHP Billiton (Melbourne) to build a project hub, manage feasibility studies, and perform engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services for BHP’s Saskatchewan potash projects. The contract includes a Jansen, SK greenfield plant that, if approved, will mark BHP’s entry into the potash market and be the province’s first new potash mine in forty years. SNC-Lavalin says it will complete a feasibility study for Jansen Phase 1 for a production capacity of 2 million m.t./year. EPCM is expected to...
