Chemical Week Magazine :: Basic Chemicals & Plastics BASF to Expand Ethylene Oxide Capacity at Two Sites5:53 AM MDT | September 28, 2007 | Kerri Walsh BASF says it will increase its ethylene oxide (EO) capacity at its Ludwigshafen and Antwerp sites for its EO derivatives. The capacity will increase by 140,000 m.t./year, to 845,000 m.t./year, BASF says. Most of the expansion work will happen during the next planned shutdowns in 2008 and 2009, the company says. Ludwigshafen’s EO capacity will increase to 345,000 m.t./year, and Antwerp’s EO capacity will rise to 500,000 m.t./year, BASF says.
