Ansac Lifts Force Majeure

The American Natural Soda Ash Corp. (ANSAC; Westport, CT)—a consortium of U.S.-based soda ash producers that sells into specific overseas markets—says it has lifted its force majeure at Green River, WY. ANSAC declared force majeure on July 22 after a power outage at Solvay’s nearby plant. Solvay is not one of ANSAC’s major suppliers, but the company said the outage compounded an already tight supply position and it could not meet its contractual obligations.
