Feedstocks to buoy US PET prices

The summer of 2013 has been a washout for polyethylene terephthalate (PET) in the United States, in part the result of falling demand for carbonated drinks and the greater availability of recycled PET resin, say analysts at IHS Chemical. With the bottle season over, demand will drop, but prices, boosted by rising feedstock costs, will retain their upward momentum for the next month or so.
