EDC, VCM supplies tight in markets worldwide

Production in Asia of ethylene dichloride (EDC) and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), the precursors for polyvinyl chloride (PVC), has been constrained by chlorine availability and production outages. Prices have risen, but not to a level high enough to attract material from North America and Europe, which have supply issues of their own.
