The CW75 Index rose 3.8% for the week ending March 21, helped by the U.S. Federal Reserve’s decision to leave interest rates unchanged. Basic chemical shares rose 3.5%; diversified chemicals, 4%; and specialty chemicals, 3.8%. American Vanguard topped the leaders’ list on news that the company’s fourth-quarter 2006 net income jumped 27%, to $5.4 million. OM Group was also among the leaders because KeyBanc Capital Markets (Cleveland) upgraded the stock from hold, to buy. Methanex’s shares were downgraded by BMO Capital Markets (Toronto)...
