CW75 Stock Performance

The CW 75 Index rose 3.2% for the week ended July 5, in line with broader market indexes. Basic chemical shares rose 2%; diversified chemical stocks, 3.4%; and specialty chemical shares, 2.2%. Fifty-nine companies rose for the week, seven were flat, and nine fell. Monsanto topped the leaders’ list, because the company’s net income for the fiscal first quarter ended May 31 rose 77%, to $1.26/share.
