CW75 Stock Performance

The CW 75 Index rose 4% for the week ended December 7. The Morgan Stanley global composite and the Standard and Poor’s 500 increased 4.7% and 3.7%, respectively. Stocks rose on news that the U.S. government plans to extend income tax cuts for all Americans for the next two years, and renew unemployment benefits. Ireland’s decision to pass budget cuts for 2011 lifted European stocks. Basic chemical stocks rose 4.1%; diversified chemical shares, 4.9%; and specialty chemical stocks, 3.3%.
