The CW 75 Index rose 1.2% for the week ending January 5, in line with broader market indexes. Basic chemical shares increased 2.1%, and diversified and specialty chemical stocks were flat. Forty-seven companies rose, three were flat, and 25 fell for the week. MEMC topped the leaders’ list on news that it entered a three-year, $250 million revolving credit facility. The agreement allows MEMC to borrow up to $400 million. The new credit agreement replaces a $200-million line, which would have expired in June. Fertilizer companies were among the other leaders...
