CW75 Stock Performance

The CW 75 index rose 7.9% for the week ended May 9, outpacing the Morgan Stanley global composite and S&P 500 indexes, which ascended 5.2% and 5.1%, respectively. Basic chemical shares increased 6.7%, diversified shares leapt 8% and specialty stocks advanced 4.8%. Sixty-three companies posted gains for the week, and 11 posted losses, with one firm flat. Ferro posted the biggest share gain for the week at 81.4%. Georgia Gulf and Ashland followed, with increases of 44.4% and 34.7%, respectively.
