CW75 Stock Performance

The CW 75 index rose 4.2% for the week ended March 17, lagging the Morgan Stanley global composite and the S&P 500 indexes, which jumped 7.3% and 8.1%, respectively. Basic chemical shares advanced 2.2%, diversified shares upped 4% and specialty chemical stocks lifted 5.9%. Sixty-six companies posted gains for the week, seven posted losses and two were flat. Georgia Gulf posted the biggest gain for the week at 217.1%, after an analyst upgraded its stock. Rockwood Holdings and Ferro also gained 46.3% and 37.6%, respectively.
